The 1064nm long pulsed neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) laser is most commonly used for treating unsightly blue veins around the eyes and across the forehead. In addition the laser treats leg veins, Port-wine stains, and nasal telangiectasias. Unlike shorter wavelength lasers, the long pulsed Nd:YAG penetrates deeper into the skin, reaching larger vessels that cannot otherwise be treated with lasers. Because of the long pulse durations, bruising is not typically seen with this laser, making it popular among patients.
How many treatments are required?
This will vary based on the diagnosis. Most facial veins significantly fade or resolve in 1-2 treatment sessions, while larger port-wine stains and leg veins will require a series of treatments.
What does the laser feel like?
During the treatment, you will feel a deep heating sensation which is well tolerated. No anesthesia is required.

The Revlite laser treatment is well tolerated. No anesthesia is required. Each laser pulse feels similar to the snap of a thin rubber band. After treatment, the area will feel similar to a light sunburn. The skin will remain pink for several days before fading to its natural color.
